One-Week ''eLearning Awareness Campaign'' at College of Languages

Under the patronage of Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the College of Languages & Translation, the eLearning Unit at the College organized a one-week “eLearning Awareness Campaign”, which took place from Saturday, March 2, 2013 to Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the College of Languages & Translation, accompanied with the team of the College eLearning Unit and visited the students in their respective classrooms. Dr. Al-Melhi motivated the students to use the eLearning system i.e. Blackboard and pointed out the importance of the eLearning system in today's world.  Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi said that the use of the Blackboard equips the students to face the future educational challenges in higher studies.

Mr. Mohsin Raza Khan, the eLearning Unit Supervisor, said: “The aim of the campaign was to make students, as well as teachers, of the College aware of the necessity and effective use of the King Khalid University eLearning system.” Mr. Khan told: "To achieve the purpose of the campaign, the College eLearning team organized and conducted various activities. The eLearning team visited classrooms for student training. Students were approached on a one-on-one basis. iPads were used for student training".

Dr. Mohammad Asif Ishfaq and Mr. Jawed Ahmed, organizers of the Campaign, said: “During the campaign, our main target was students. The eLearning team visited students in their classrooms and gave them training on the effective use of Blackboard.”

Mr. Rizwan Ghani prepared a student's eLearning Help Guide, which was distributed among students during the one-week campaign. The eLearning help desks were strategically placed in different corners of the College for enhancing the eLearning awareness.

Mr. Ahmed J. Al-Shaflut, eLearning Specialist of the College, Dr. Khaled Mohanna, the eLearning Team Manager, Mr. Nasir Al-Khatany, Mr. Salahuddin Abdurab, Mr. Kamaluddin and Mr. Fazle Malik provided holistic support to make the campaign a success.


Mahala Academic Campus organized an introductory session on Blackboard

Within its educational programs, Mahala Academic Campus represented by combined programs club and with cooperation with eLearning deanship, organized an introductory session on Blackboard.

The session took place in mahala campus main hall on Sunday 07/04/1434.

The introductory course was in how to deal with Blackboard presented by Mr. Abdullah Zubain from eLearning deanship, and targeted new students of combined programs in order to introduce students to the mechanism of Blackboard education system and its benefits.

The session attended by many students and was fruitful and interactive.



 

 

Two training sessions for students at the College of Science

The eLearning Unit at College of Science organized two training sessions for the students, the first session entitled ''Introduction to eLearning'' and the second session entitled ''Basics of eLearning''.

Sessions were held in the e-learning lab at the College of Science and targeted students of the course 101 Phys.

Sessions coordinated and presented by Dr. Abulwafa Salem, eUnit Supervisor at College of Science, who explained in details how to take advantage of this new educational experience which certainly will help them to achieve the best results.

 

e-Unit at College of Science Conducted training session for (Tajseer) students

eLearning Unit at College of Science conducted training session for (Tajseer Program) students on the use of Elluminate Live! and its benefits.

The session was the first which targeted the students of this program.

The session held in eLearning Lab at College of Science, and presented by Dr. Abuelwafa Salim (E-Unit Supervisor).

The workshop was fruitful and the interaction of students was great. 



Success Story Girls eLearning Team (College of Science and H.E. - Bisha)

Ms. Fatima Amer, E-Unit Supervisor at College of Science and Home Economics for girls in Bisha, prepared a report about the students e-learning support team in the college, The report reflected the outstanding efforts and wonderful activities for the group, which had a prominent role in the functioning and activation of e-learning in the college by serving students and providing them with support to solve their problems in dealing with e-learning systems through the presence of female support team in the e-learning labs.
