King Khalid University actively participates in the international fair of higher education

On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdul-Aziz, the Minster of Higher Education Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al-Angari launched the International Exhibition of Higher Education. About 365 international, Arab and Saudi Universities, from private and government sectors, participated in the exhibition.

King Khalid University, with its eight decades in academia, took part in the exhibition as part of its constant effort to keep up with the latest in the various fields of knowledge and learning. This falls under the interest of the university's leadership in benefiting from international expertise, partaking in the exhibition activities.

71 E-exams Conducted

The E-learning Deanship has recently finished conducting a number of final exams synchronously via the Blackboard system. The number of exams was 71 conducted in 9 different colleges.

This attempt comes within the framework of developing the learning process in the university through the initiative attempts of e-learning. In addition, it contributes to the amelioration of the quality and accuracy of the process of electronic examamination.

Conducting e-learning exams at the Faculty of Medicine using the Blackboard system.

E-learning exams were successfully conducted in the Biochemistry department, at the Faculty of Medicine, in seven courses using the Blackboard system, including 292 students.

The exams were held at the labs of the E-learning Deanship under the supervision of the e-learning specialist Dr. Khalid AL-Mohanna, with a dedicated cooperation from the labs’ supervisors.
The academic staff expressed their happiness with the successful endeavour, showing an enthusiasm to conduct future electronic exams.
 

Professional Development E-Learning Workshops

E-learning Deanship has completed the professional development workshops in E-Learning which was held from 5 to 7 January 2010 for medical colleges, by Dr. Badrul Huda Khan a world renowned E-Learning expert and author. Dr. Khan will work.

The workshops covered:

    * Meaningful e-Learning.
    * Blended e-Learning.
    * Role of technology in e-Learning.
    * Evaluating e-Learning.

The workshops were attended by E-Learning Coordinators, E-Learning Specialists and E-Learning team.

A delegation of Corporate Governance visited E-learning Deanship

A delegation of Corporate Governance, participating in the Corporate Governance Conference at King Khalid University,  visited E-learning Deanship, accompanied by Dean of Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences.

They went on a tour and visited the the technical division and laboratories of training, accompanied by specialists from E-learning Deanship, who explained in detail all the tasks of each section separately. They exchanged talk about e-learning.

The guests expressed their happiness with what they saw of the development at King Khalid University.

E-learning Deanship met with the faculty members of Blended Courses

 On Monday evening 29/6/2009, E-learning Deanship at King Khalid University held its first meeting with faculty members of the blended courses which will be taught starting from the beginning of the next semester, through the system of E-learning.

Starting to use the Examination Program - Questionmark

The computerized exam (Question mark) used in short examinations for students of Dr. Wael Al-Maliki, Faculty of Dentistry, and Dr. Tarek Tawfik, Faculty of Engineering.

The exam for students prepaired with advance coordination with the Training Department of E-learning. The experience was remarkably successful and highlighted many of the features of the program.

 

A delegation from U.S. consulate visited the center

A delegation from the U.S. Consulate visited E-learning center at King Khalid University, and during the visit there was an introductory presentation about the experience of e-learning in the university by the supervisor of the Center, Dr. Abdullah Alwalidi.
